The Name "PanoTools"

PanoTools is the short name for Panorama Tools and it's not really clear when it was first introduced.

The oldest email message with "PanoTools" in the archive is dated with April 18, 2000 and can be found here
The first usage of "PanoTools" on the website of Helmut Dersch in the webarchive dated with Nov 09, 2000 and can be seen here

Wiki History

Wikis were originally created in 1995 by Oregon programmer Ward Cunningham. Cunningham named the term wiki for the "wiki wiki" or "quick" shuttle buses at Honolulu Airport.
