Hint: If you look for a page about how to use a spherical mirror, got to ChristmasBallPanoTutor. This one is about mirror pages of the original panotools distribution.
Before Helmut Dersch closed his site with the original Panorama tools distribution some users managed to save his pages and mirror them in different locations. These mirrors are still the main source of the complete panorama tools package and contain lots of information. Some core applications are only found there:
- Probably the most linked page with the most recent version is managed by 'Big' Ben Kreunen in Melbourne: http://www.path.unimelb.edu.au/~dersch/
- Another good page with similar content: http://www.all-in-one.ee/~dersch/
- A bit older version by Daniel Maurer: http://home.no.net/dmaurer/~dersch this one includes a german version of the pages: http://home.no.net/dmaurer/~dersch/index_deutsch.html
However, all these versions miss some pages Helmut Dersch introduced shortly before he closed the site down:
- Carl von Einem managed to save the page containing Helmut Dersch's description how to use an ultra wide rectilinear lens (a 15mm Heliar) to make spherical panoramas from March 18, 2002: http://www.einem.net/~dersch/heliarVR/heliarVR0.html
- A page on Single Image Object Movies - Frozen Moment Photography from April 11, 2002. Guillaume Fulchiron archived the page on http://www.animatif.com/dersch/dice/object.html
- Again Guillaume Fulchiron archived the page with the famous experiment how to restore star images from their trails from May 1, 2002 using the Panorama Tools Plugins Wiener filter: http://www.animatif.com/dersch/startrail/trail.html
