JPC: full path - Disadvantages - With a mod rewrite in a htaccess file you can use url vaiables within the filename ie RewriteRule ^article([^/]*)\.html$ /article.php?ID=$1 As user could call articleX.html and it would be translated why the server seamlessly as article.php?ID=X These links are also much more search engine friendly
