As a professional photographer I ran into cylindrical panoramas in 1996 and since that time I'm dedicated to panoramic photography. At that time I looked on the map to find a place that is called "Nodal Point"... I did all the mistakes, I know them well.

I still learn a lot and hope to give something back to the Panotools community. However I'd like to point out that the panotools.info server and it's management are not equal to the Panotools community. This wiki is the work of the community. Feel invited to join the Panotools-List Yahoo! group to discuss the friendly and democratic future of the Panotools community.

Besides commercial photography I also have some experience in print solutions, sometimes database driven, graphics and Mac administration.

Since the start of the PanoTools NG Yahoo group I am co-owner and one of the moderators of that list.

The nickname Zarl was given to me by a crazy austrian fashion photographer a long time ago when I worked as an assistant. My real name is Carl von Einem. I still shoot with film.... am I also crazy?

hugin on Mac OS X

I will try to explain the steps needed to get hugin plus the necessary components running on Mac OS X. This description is aimed at the usual Mac user who is not familiar with terms like compiling and thinks that Terminal is some kind of ant. Feel free to ask for details on my discussion page if something is missing.

This article is based on a fresh standard installation of Mac OS X 10.5 aka Leopard unless otherwise noted. I use a German system and as a default work with an account that has no admin rights.
