Although some experienced panographer can shoot a panorama without it, most of us use tripods, monopods levels or some other devices to keep the camera steady. The most critical mechanical element is the nodal point adapter that is used to align the camera with a special panoramic tripod head. And there are plenty of other useful accessories.
